R1100RT Cee Bailey's Screen

19/02/06

This is the Cee Bailey's screen, design 1 for the BMW R1100RT. I've been using it now for well over 12 months, including trips to Germany, Austria and France. Its been a significant improvement on my previous screen, the Secdem, mainly because it has no moulded 'flip' in the top edge - so it's 'near' optically perfect.

This picture shows the difference between the BMW standard screen and the Cee Bailey's. The Cee Bailey's was ordered +2 taller and +1 wider than standard from Sporttouring at no extra cost.

So what's it like to ride behind? Well, it's no quieter than the my cut down Secdem was, but it does have the advantage of being optically correct through out the whole screen area, and for me that does matter. It is of course a huge improvement on the standard screen which when fully raised allows large amounts of air to tumble over the top creating turbulence and noise around your helmet.

The Cee Bailey's can be ordered in various heights, widths, shapes and colours so there's something for everyone. You really need to visit the Cee Bailey's site to see all the options, here: Ceebaileys.com
